Common Questions
What file types can I upload for my transcript?
Degree Tracking accepts PDF, PNG, and JPG files. We recommend uploading a PDF from your university's student portal for the most accurate parsing. Image files work well too as long as they're clear and not rotated.
Is my transcript data stored securely?
Yes. All uploaded files are encrypted at rest and in transit using AES-256 and TLS 1.3. We do not share your data with third parties. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from your settings.
My transcript wasn't parsed correctly — what should I do?
Parsing accuracy depends on the quality and format of your transcript. Try uploading a cleaner PDF version directly from your university portal. If issues persist, use the manual course entry/edit option or contact us and we'll look into it.
Can I use Degree Tracking with any university?
Degree Tracking works with transcripts from any university. You upload your own transcript — we don't connect directly to university systems. Degree plan support may vary depending on your program's structure.
Is Degree Tracking free to use?
Degree Tracking is available for a one-time purchase of $14.99, which grants lifetime access to the platform.
You’ll have full access to all features, including uploading transcripts, creating degree plans, and using the interactive course planner.
What GPA scale does the grade predictor use?
We use the standard 4.0 scale that most US colleges and universities use:
A+/A = 4.0
A- = 3.7
B+ = 3.5
B = 3.0
B- = 2.7
C+ = 2.3
C = 2.0
C- = 1.7
D+ = 1.3
D = 1.0
D- = 0.7
F = 0.0
